How do we get young people involved in the Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Industry?

We found out last week, as Dean & Wood were proud sponsors of Cool Science at last week's fantastic Big Bang Fair at the NEC. Cool Science is a Youth Engagement project for the RACHP Industry (Refrigeration, Air Conditioning & Heat Pumps) set up by Chris Williams from the AB Group.
“We heard the feedback about the lack of young people coming into the air conditioning and refrigeration industry. The team at AB Group, with the support of Dean & Wood and the IOR, decided to do something about it. Clearly, from the popularity of our display at the Big Bang Fair, we have succeeded in making our industry appealing for young people,” said Chris.
Cool Science proved to be a big hit at the 2015 Big Bang Fair, the largest UK youth event which attracted over 75,000 young scientists and engineers, teachers, parents and STEM professionals.

Cool Science had a prime location to showcase the RACHP industry among the 170 stands and interacted with over 12,000 young people over 4 incredibly busy days. The 25sqm stand proved a huge draw, with its eye-catching design and a fantastic range of fun interactive areas, with a constant swarm of visitors and a led to a remarkable level of engagement with young people, interested to learn more about the science behind Refrigeration. The stand was also visited by VIPs such as  CBBC Newsround, TV’s Marty Jopson, and  Science Minister Greg Clarke MP.
